Our adventure on Rapa Nui, the original name for Easter Island, continues. Waking up before dawn has never been our strong suit, but some places make it worth the effort. This morning, we drove through the dark to witness our first Rapa Nui sunrise at Ahu Tongariki. It was a colorful and mystical start to our day.

Our adventure on Rapa Nui, the original name for Easter Island, continues. Even though we wanted to take it slow the first days, we coordinated last-minute plans and beat our way through the tricky jungle of rental cars. Day 2 was a mix of spontaneity and logistical puzzle-solving. But it was reqarding because we successfully secured our wheels for the next day and experienced our very first sunset over the Polynesian Pacific.

Valparaíso mi amor 🎨

Walking through Valparaíso was like stepping from one splash of color to the next. The UNESCO awarded historic neighboorhood is a rich palette of colors, people, steep streets and funiculars. At the end of the day, my camera was completely out of battery but full of joyful and festive pictures and memories from this beautiful port city.

For sure, we especially enjoyed the day thanks to our wonderful Couchsurfing friend and host @6677jaime, who was both family and guide for us during our time by the Chilean coast. Muchas gracias por todo, Jaime! Esperamos verte pronto, quizás en Europa! 😊
